[Zoho CRM] Email Relay Now Support OAuth

Zoho is pleased to inform you that email relays in Zoho CRM now have O-auth login support. This addition will streamline the setup process for email relay and improve its security.

Here is a quick look at the enhancements:

O-auth login for supported email providers
You can now easily and securely configure email relay servers for supported email service providers such as Gmail, Outlook, and Office365 while enjoying the convenience of OAuth login. This allows you to directly set up your email relay server from Zoho CRM using your service provider's OAuth login. It is important to note that when authenticating through OAuth login, CRM will not retain your app-based password.

To complement these new changes, Zoho enhanced the email relay setup process. They have introduced a new field, 'Service Provider', under the Authentication Section to choose the email service provider. Based on the chosen provider, CRM will authenticate via O-auth login or password-based login. For the configured service providers, authentication will be done exclusively via O-auth login.

When choosing from the available email service providers, you can enter your credentials directly in the OAuth login window of the service provider.

On choosing 'Others' as the option, the existing password-based login fields will be available.

Points to be noted:
  • Password-based login: For other service providers which are not supported inside email relay for O-auth login, you can still set up your email relay servers using the existing app-based password authentication.
  • No impact on existing email relay configurations: Rest assured that your existing email relay configurations will remain unchanged. You have the flexibility to switch to OAuth authentication whenever you're ready, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free transition.
