Individual Records can now be shared with Roles and Groups

Greetings!!

We have a quick update about our record sharing capabilities in Zoho CRM. Let's go!

As you must be aware, an individual record can be shared with up to 10 users via private sharing or with all users in the organization via public sharing. Either way, sharing individual records with your co-workers facilitates effective collaboration.

What is the update?

We have now extended the scope of sharing individual records in private sharing.  Here on, you can share a record with roles and groups, besides sharing with users. For instance, a sales rep can share a high-value deal with the deal desk to expedite deal approval.

What are the record sharing limits?

  • Through direct sharing, a record can be shared with up to 10 users, 5 roles, and 5 groups.
  • Through indirect sharing, a record can be shared with up to 12 users, 5 roles, and 5 groups.

What's more?

Further to this update, the UI of the sharing info, summary, and manage sharing is also updated to display the other categories: Users, Roles, and Groups.
